Learn how to get certified to teach Spanish in the U.S.

Would you like to be a Spanish teacher in the United States? If so, it is important that you know how to become certified to teach this language in that country.

The demand for Spanish teachers in the United States is high; however, qualified people for this job are few. Consequently, obtaining a Spanish teaching certification can open the door to many job opportunities.

The certification process for teaching Spanish at U.S. schools varies by state. In our video Andrea Halverson, an experienced Spanish teacher in the United States and tutor of our Spanish as a Foreign Language Teacher Training Program explains in detail the requirements to obtain this certification in the State of Florida, one of the most Hispanic-influenced states.

While not all schools require certified teachers at first, having a certification can be helpful to both the school and the candidate.

For the school, the certification indicates that the candidate has the necessary skills and knowledge to teach Spanish effectively. For the candidate, certification can improve the chances of getting a job and obtaining a higher salary.
