PEE Training Program and University of Groningen successfully complete first collaboration project
El Tulipán Perú‘s Spanish as a Foreign Language Teacher Training Program (PEE) and the University of Groningen, one of the most prestigious educational institutions in Europe, have successfully concluded their first distance collaboration project.
This project gave 21 trainee teachers the opportunity to carry out a six-week Spanish teaching internship with students from the university. These teaching practices included the design of materials, as well as the observation, simulation and delivery of sessions aimed at developing the oral production and intercultural competence of university students.
At the project’s closing meeting, University of Groningen Spanish professors Cristina Pascual and Gerdientje Oggel praised the quality of the materials designed and the positive impact of this experience on their students Spanish.
The trainee teachers also shared their experiences. Some highlighted the value of the support and feedback they received throughout this experience, while others noted that the contact they had with the Groningen students not only improved their teaching skills, but also led them to a deep reflection on the concepts of culture and interculturality.
This collaborative project is an example of the academic excellence that characterizes both institutions. With this first joint effort, the PEE Training Program and the University of Groningen reaffirm their commitment to teaching and teacher training in the field of Spanish as a foreign language.
